MISSOURI RANCH HORSE

This information is from the 2009 MO State Fair Board, 2010 information will be posted when available!

MISSOURI STATE FAIR INFORMATION
 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

GATE FEES
Adult daily gate admission is $8. Children 12 and under get in free every day. Advance admission can be purchased for $6 at various locations around the state (check the State Fair web site for this information).
August 20 is a "discount day" and admission will be $2.00. The $8.00 fee will apply to those arriving on Wed or staying for Friday.

PARKING FEE & HANG TAGS FOR EACH DAY IS $5.00/DAY
Parking for exhibitors is $5 / day. MoRHA exhibitors must purchase a "HANG TAG" to be placed on the rearview mirror. The State Fair will tow untagged vehicles.) A tag must be purchased for each day, so if you arrive on Thursday and plan to stay until Friday - purchase 3 tags!

EXCEPTION:  If you plan on loading and leaving on Friday morning you can get a "loading pass" that is good for one hour. If you have any intention on spending any time on Friday, other than loading your horse(s) and leaving, you will need to purchase a regular parking tag.

Additional guests will be able to park in the "Free Lots" for general admission.  Free lots are NOT for livestock trailers or overnight parking.

TOWED VEHICLES

The fair will tow overnight parkers in the free lots. Fee for towing is $75.00. The fair will tow vehicles that are not tagged, are taking more than necessary parking space etc.  Be considerate of others when you park and follow the mandatory fair rules and regulations concerning parking.

ELECTRIC FANS FOR STALLS
Check back for more information. We are currently checking on whether we will have electic outlets in the barn.

SHAVINGS
Exhibitors may choose to bring their own shavings or purchase from our vendor on grounds. They are located adjacent to the lots where you will be parked. Any gate person could direct your exhibitors. Please make sure that your exhibitors know that they can bring feed and bedding on grounds for their use only. Individuals are not allowed to provide these items for other exhibitors. We do not have a price for shavings purchased on the State Fair Grounds. Please contact the State Fair if you are interested in this price.

STALLING:
At this time we have 80 stalls designated for our use and all entries must have a stall. To reserve a stall we are asking for prepayment as soon as possible. We will take stall requests, but will not assign tack stalls unless we have stalls that are not being used for horses. Stalls are reserved on a first-come/paid - first serve basis. Tack stalls will be on a "wait list" with priority going to those requests that show a willingness to share stalls. See the HOME page of the MoRHA website regarding stalling.

We have requested that additional stalls be made available to our group and are awaiting a reply from the State Fair Representative. We will not be allowing tie-outs if stalls are available. There is a possibility that tie-outs will be allowed only if all stalls are filled first. Tie-outs will be charged a fee should we have have the need for them. We are not encouraging tie-outs due to safety reasons and the fact that the parking lot is shared by all livestock exhibitors, trailers, trucks and cars, including cattle, swine, etc. So, get your stall reservations in ASAP!

LEAVING THE GROUNDS:
There is a check-out system in place. At the livestock gates, they will in all probability be wristbanded. Should they go out the general admission gates, it may be a stamp instead. Either way, once they have paid admission for the day, there is a system to come and go as needed.

CHECK IN TIMES
EXHIBITORS:  DO NOT ARRIVE PRIOR TO 4 PM ON AUGUST 19 (Thursday afternoon) - NO EARLY CHECK IN WILL BE ALLOWED.  DO NOT PUT HORSES IN THE MoRHA (or any)  BARN PRIOR TO BEING CHECKED IN AND FINDING YOUR ASSIGNED STALL at the MoRHA office.

CHECK OUT TIME
EXHIBITORS: MUST CHECK-OUT PRIOR TO 10 AM ON AUGUST 21 (Friday Morning). This is mandatory by the State Fair and the MoRHA Barn must be empty at this time. (See Leaving the Grounds below)*

* LEAVING THE GROUNDS:

We require all livestock and equine to be accompanied out the gates by a release form signed by the designated superintendent of your event. You will pick these up from our entry office (Edna Vollmer). We do this in hopes of eliminating the risk of someone helping themselves to someone else’s animals. This has not been a problem for us – maybe because of the release forms. Anyone leaving the grounds with a loaded livestock / horse trailer should be stopped by gate staff and asked to show the release form that indicates the number of animals released to that person. If the form says 2 and the trailer has 3, they are delayed until the inconsistency can be resolved.

EXHIBITOR EQUINE PAPER WORK AND VETERINARIAN INSPECTIONS:
Missouri State Veterinarians are on grounds during the fair and do check health papers quite consistently.
